Lightbulb

I just received the cable & software shown @ http://www.obd-2.com/

I got it on the I-Club group buy http://www.i-club.com/forums/showthr...hreadid=146426

I had a quick play last night, it displays and logs things like:
Speed
RPM
Intake air temp
Coolant temp
MAF (Air flow)
MAP (manifold pressure)
Ignition advance
And a few others I have forgotten.

I paid via Paypal and received the cable in a week.

Question

Edward,

What year car do you have ? MY01/02 ?

I don't think the early cars are OBD II compatible....

Sounds like a very useful tool !

Thanks

Gavin

Edward,

Any reason why this should not work on an MY98 Sti?

I assume you bought the ISO version.

Thanks in advance

My car is an MY02, I got the ISO model.

I don't know if it will work with the earlier MY's - my girlfriend has a MY99 Turbo so I'll try it on her car if she'll let me and post the results here.

Cheers

They don't work on Pre MY01 Jap or UK. They do work on older US models as they are OBD 2 compliant.

Stephen Done started work on a MY99/00 diagnostic port reader as a thread in "Interior" but is now making the project commercial. The codes were not the same as OBD - 2 but I gather he could use the same circuit to read the port.

If my car was OBD - 2 it would make me very happy indeed as it would make my life when fiddling with the boost much easier!

I don't know his release schedule, but I would expect he would extend it to other models in due course - I don't believe there are massive differences between the model years.
