Removing the Gearbox whilst stuck in 5th gear

How do you remove a gearbox that's stuck in 5th gear? (gear lever moves from side to side but is not connected to shaft?)

Is there a way to release it to enable removal?

Will not make any differance if its stuck in 5th the gearbox can still be removed the same as normal.
