Default slippy clutch/lumpy gears?

Can anyone answer this Q for me?

If the clutch is on its way out i.e 'slipping' would this have any effect on the smoothness of gear changes as ive noticed since its started slipping the box has felt a bit lumpy for want of another word?

Id like 2 know if its related to the clutch being nackered.

Cheers

yeah its still noticeable and like i said its only started since the clutch was slipping, not being mechanically minded, i thought it would be simple for someone on here to answer?
Its not grinding or popping out its just not a smooth gear change.

mate the clutch on my my98 sti is slipping you really want to not let it do that and get it replaced asap ir you'l knacker your fly wheel

i reckon a clutch on its way out would make it more tricky to engage gear but ill let you know when i have mine sorted do you get bad clutch judder when pulling away ?

ahh you might be ok with the flywheel then mine is juddering after it slipped apparently the more it does slip the more damage is likely to happen to the flywheel mine caught me out under big acceleration up a hill and there is no way of knowing what the flywheel will look like until its all apart anyway after talks with my local garage and David at API i decided to get both parts from API the flywheel being a lightened version and the clutch being an uprated eXedy

an uprated clutch was £220.00 + VAT [ £253.00 inc ] so dont be paying 220 for a standard replacement

call them or PM APIDavid on here i got a response well quick and he answered all my questions not just a quick "yea buy this" good customer service goes along way

my cars an 05 uk Sti, so i thought they were more expensive than the classics which u have if im correct? even on ebay they r £230, my friends keep banging on about an uprated replacement but i dont see the point if im running standard and no intention to up the power, what u reckon worth it? if so what would i get out of it?

see i thought long and hard about it but with the large fitting cost whats the point of saving £90 on replacing with a standard item you pay for what you get in this world and id rather pay abit extra to get it done properly 1st time that's just my opinion tho

and yea ur right i think yours is more expensive than my classic dam i feel for you

uprated clutch is around the £400 mark and got quoted £300 to replace the clutch, so thats £700ish and if the flywheel is fkd thats gonna be another £150\200 just to replace the clutch!

Its worth double that cus it makes me smile everytime i look at it and still buzz my **** off everytime i drive it lol

yeah absolutely, its gonna cost £529 for oe clutch and labour but i knew that when i bought it so u just gotta swallow it, if i didnt get what i do out of it i wouldnt have 1 cus it aint really practical for most with the cost of running 1 for everyday use.
