Hi,
i have recently stripped 5th gear in my RA box, and am looking for a replacement.
I have also discovered a pool of gear oil on my Garage floor, so guess the 40 miles I drove the car home in 4th done some extra damage to the casing.
I have been unable to locate another early RA box, but stumbled across a Version 4 STI TYPE R DCCD gearbox, rear diff ECU, switch and dash. but the wiring is missing.
I have found through searching that i can get a Manual controller for $170
so I plan to sell the dash and ECU and get the controller, but use the original switch.
is their anything else I will need to do or get? will my drive shafts fit etc?
and is this my best option, I cannot afford the 6 speed or PPG.
I aim to do some Drag strip, and Track with the car, and a bit of off road drifting.
I have also been told with the Manual controller, I can add in an extra switch, to the handbrake wire, and earth the other end... thus at the flick of a switch giving me full power to the rear?
is this correct?
Any advice would be appreciated.
Thanks
Derek

Hi Greig,
I had just read your Add.
would you know the ratio's used in the box?
I would ideally prefer to keep the RA ratio's or else move up to a DCCD.

The 93 - 94 Ra eg. min has a 4.11 final Drive.
Although i would need to know the Final Drive, i would also like to know the actual gear ratio's too.
Thanks
Derek

A TY755VN1AA will go straight in.
But it has the same ratios as
TY752VB3FA - 1st 3.454, 2nd 2.062, 3rd 1.448, 4th 1.088, 5th 0.825, rev 3.416
Guess it depends if you want to keep your short ratios.
