Question 05 WRX front diff skip/clicking..?

I thought this was only a trait of the STI..?

Noticed it during this cold spell when car is cold, reversing on half to full lock. Feels like the front wheel have skipped, just like when you reverse on lock over a loose drain cover/grate..?

Have searched SN and found similar threads from a few years back, just thought it was only applicable to DCCD'd STi 's..?

Mine does it too, and always has done since new. It's to do with the 4WD. I shouldn't worry, its just more noticeable in the wet, or on ice.

Been fine today, as the weather is quite a bit milder..

This leads me think it has to be the viscosity of the oil being effected by the cold weather..? If that's the case isn't there 'scope' for changing the normal characteristics of the diffs by using 'thicker' oil..?

Just a thought..
