hi guys will a gerarbox ( 5 speed) from a 2003 uk wrx blobeye car fit my 1995 uk turbo? if so will this require rear diff change or will original one be compatible?

That'll go straight in - you may need different set of front drivesaft seals. Check and see if they look like they fit and seal then decide and you will need to do something about the lower starter motor bolt hole.

You either: rethread the block. or drill right through and use a nut and bolt, or you can just leave it off and use only one bolt for the starter.

Rear diff is the same for either car so no worry there.

Ideally you should try to get the late model shift linkage with the box as it is better and shorter throw than what you have now.

I certainly wouldnt advise using only one bolt for the starter though.

I machined up a stud, and tapped the housing.

 

I certainly would do that or suggest to only fit one starter bolt. I am just saying; that is what we have seen here as a fix. Strangely enough it seems OK.

As a professional company our work needs to be better than that.
