WARNING - Pre97 models check you coolant hose.

Guys,
Check the coolant hose that runs from the Turbo to the top of the Coolant header tank (next to the pressure cap).
Mine snapped off at the connection with the tank, due to the platic tank deteriorating. Probably due of the constant heating and cooling that it's subject too.
Luckily mine broke whilst in my garage and pissed coolant all over the garage floor. Could of easily snapped of next week whilst down at Rallye Sunseeker, so was glad it happened this weekend.
The outlet pipe from the same tank has also started to change colour (gone brown), so I guess that will go next.
Picking a new tank up from Subaru today at £52.... not bad as origionally I thought the head gasket had gone....

Exactly same happened to me on my MY96 and a mate's MY95.
Smack a piece of copper pipe into the remaining, sticky-up-bit that is the right thickness for the hose and secure it as normal with the hose clip. Good as a "get you home fix" but mine has lasted 6 weeks or so now so, I'm in no rush to get a new header tank yet.

SNAP!
Mine has just gone too (MY96)! Luckily it has happened in the drive and the dealer is going to fix it under warranty next week (the plastic outlet the hose fits onto just disintegrated!). If you own a pre 97 it may be wise to replace this part as a precaution.

Get you home fix.
I've used a 3/8" 90 degree washing machine hose adaptor pipe (£1.50 from B&Q)as a tempory fix. The end that screws into the washing machine has to be cut off and leaves you with a straight pipe which fits the hole very tightly, wrap the other end with some insulating tape to increase the pipe diameter for the cooling hose.
