Afternoon all,

I know this has been probably done to death before now, but what would be the best induction kit to use...

Thanks

Rich

hmmm what MY?
and boy are you going to get some contradicting views....

I'm running a blitz which apparanlty can cause maf failures because of crap filtration
or
good because it does require oil to clean the cone which can cause maf failures

From what Ive read alot of ppl use the HKS.

I also needed a PiperX Pipe bit (on MY96) as the blitz wouldn't bolt directly on.

Its MUCH louder (which I hated to start with), you can really hear the standard BOV work now

Try quikshiftracing.co.uk, stainless filters like blitz but probably a third the price. As said before, the noise from a stainless is spot on, best thing i ever bought.

Thumbs up

I've got a K&N 57i - apparently can cause MAF failures as it is oil based - but so far so good.

Echo above comments, a very hotly debated topic - but they do sound superb. Have heard a Blitz one on an Evo, and it has a more metallic rasp than mine. But both sound v.good

If you have an MY99 or MY00, you'll have a "thin film" type MAF as opposed to the old wire type that they used to fit. These are undoubtedly more delicate and, when buggered, cause idle problems that can be cured by replacing the MAF. They are not cheap!!!!

I fitted a K&N as I could find NO-ONE who had had a MAF failure as a result of fitting one. (No one's had a problem with the APS system, or Mac's Power one either). Plus the K&N is around 70 quid and is guaranteed for 1,000,000 miles.

If you want to know what you're getting yourself in for before you buy, check out the fitting guide that I put together. It's easy to do, and well worth it IMHO.

HTH,

Nick.

I've been running a blitz for nearly a year and no probs, just give it a wash under the tap and a quick once over with a brush to weed out and crud in the wire mesh.

Sounds great - some very odd hissing and chattering sound on deceleration at low speed and an amazing induction noise and full thottle, enough to fighten children and kill old people, plus it looks great.

Had a problem fitting it to my MY98 UK Turbo as some of the fitting hole didn't line up.

BUY ONE !

Pete
