Hi,

I have a Catalunya, which the mechanic tells me has a quickshift gear lever.

Two questions:
a) do Catalunyas have quickshifts, (I thought they just had a shorter throw)
b) would a quickshift have more trouble getting into 1st from 2nd than a normal shift? ie occasionally forced to double-declutch to get it in...

I had a Catalunya and it was sticky between 1st and 2nd. i traded it in, but the problem wasnt that bad.
There seems to be some confusion over the quickshift:-
Initially I had a standard 97 Impreza Turbo with no quickshift, and then I bought the Catalunya. The Catalunya definetly had a different gearchange altogether. Much shorter throw, easier to find the gear, and a much more solid feel to it. More for sure than just a shorter gear ****.

However the SIDC FAQ - which is put together by peeps much cleverer than me says, The Catalunya has:- Short rally style gear **** (initial sales blurb promised a quick shift!)

So, maybe my Catalunya had an upgrade done by a prevoius owner. Maybe some other Catalunya owners can shed some light.

What number Catalunya you got, I got a spare set of wheels (original gold and good nick) and tyres going very cheap that will fit it.
