Acceleration Hesitation
#1
Hi,
Just had my scooby MY96 serviced about 4 hours ago, did not really drive it with the turbo kicking in until I got onto the motorway.
I noticed as soon as the turbo spooled up about 3500rpm the car almost sounded like it misfired no power than a second later came on boost but was still erratic through the rev range.
Is it the wastegate?
I am taking it back 2moro to the garage but would like a bit of info to be prepared!!

hi mate, it sounds like it may be over boosting and this 'misfire' will be the fuel cut. the ecu senses the overboost and then momentarily cuts the fuel supply. the cut can be quite fierce and almsot gives whiplash sometimes!
p.s. this may not be the problem, but just thought i'd suggest it.
cheers

Couple of things to quickly check
Oil Level, sometimes they put too much in and it contaminates the Boost Solenoid.
Coolant, I had mine changed and they'd spilt some down the side of the engine and it caused the Spark plug to arc against the block and thus I had the same problem as yourself.
O.M.
