Getting a flat spot / hesitation every now and again when engine is warm and under load (like missing and then wet plugs). Boost is showing as fine so suspect ignition coils as I had similar symptons on a previous Sub which proved to be a coil.

Where can I verify this in the Wimbledon area. Or where can I get 4 new coils from? How much are they over here? (STi2).

Ever thought it could be the ignition leads (I would try these first as more likely) Any good car accessory shop or for specialist leads try someone like Lumenition 0207 4034334 or Taylor leads 01978 664466 Spitfire leads 01562 822699 for coils try Micro Dynamics Coils 0207 4034334 or any local Lucas Electrical depot for both. Any local Auto Electrical Engineering shop should be able to do a coil check for you.
Hope this helps.

Thanks guys. I will get the coils checked today at Cheam. Exactly the same effect as the soft rev limiter only at 5500 rpm. I will elt you know the outcome.

I had exactly that problem but turned out to be the plugs...
it also could be the the rubber stoppers at the end of the coils have split (do after a while) and with the recent wet wether water may have seeped in.

Once it misfires does it continue until you back off, or is it a single miss that you can drive through.

I have the latter on mine at about 4,700 and am trying to diagnose the fault.

P.S Don't buy the Coils from Subaru, they are almost half price at C&K (about £50), Subaru charge about £80+
