CAR: MY95 WRX, BPM TwinDump DP, HKS Hiper Exhaust, K&N Induction.

Hi all,

I am convinced that my car is not making enough boost.

It is currently boosting to 15psi and holding at 13/14psi, does this sound right to you?

If it is right, I want more boost, how would I got about winding this up a little bit?

Cheers

Paul

may be better to upgrade your intercooler (even if just a better topmount) so your running the same boost and getting a larger mass of air

more boost doesn't necessarily mean more power

My 95WRX runs at 0.9 bar with Blitz air filter and Power Engineering T75 downpipe, back box and sports cat. Boost has not been raised to my knowledge.

Thumbs up

Hi Paul

Yep that sounds spot on for a 95 WRX with breathing mods, mine used to hold 0.9bar with a very similar setup.

See you around

You should not make any more changes until you upgrade the fuel pump, and injectors. Otherwise you are going to melt pistons increasing your boost any further.

Hi,

I've got a HKS EVC3 boost controller bought off this very bbs for £220 2nd hand.

Gives me 1.3 bar held and 320bhp (UK 96 -recorded at Well Lane last weekend)

Although good results have been had with Dawes too for a lot less £ - ask John Banks.

cheers
Rich

P.S. your boost sounds bob on for a decatted WRX
