How easy is it to change the gearbox mount on a 2004 wrx, can it be easily done without ramps

i think you need to jack the gearbox up from the mounts ....a ramp helps of cause

so long as the car is high enough to get underneath safely and you can hold a spanner then all's good.
Don't need to jack up the box - just undo the cross member supports bolts and the two nuts holding the lower part of the mount - remove cross member and undo the 4 nuts of the mount to the gearbox
remove the mount - fit the new one and refit and tighten all the nuts.

You might need a bit of strength to push up the box as it will drop a little during the swap over, but nothing drastic and if all else fails then jack the crsoomember back up into position to fit the final bolts into the floor.
