Hi all, I have an MY98, with an STi induction kit, and a scorpion cat-back exhaust, and every week, the tail of the exhaust is covered in black, I know that the Impreza runs over-rich as standard (to keep things cool), but this seems far to rich. What is the best way to check this out, if I take it to a dealer (bearing in mind it hasnt got a full Subaru service history - although it has been serviced by mechanics I trust and respect more that the scooby employed ones), would they be able to check it on a select monitor, or is it a case of buying some guages, and looking myself???

Thanks a lot;

Mark Dawes

7-9% CO at WOT for safety and power seems to be accepted. Get a Lambda display or a run on a rolling road with gas analyser or select monitor.

Wide open throttle = foot to the floor.
