108 Ron Fuel !!!!!
#1
Just a quick question?
I've read with great interest the various threads on fuels & octane boosters etc.
Due to bike racing, I have access to Elf racing fuel which is I beleive rated at 108 Ron. I run a v5 Sti Type-r and know it was designed to run on 100Ron fuel, but what I would like to know is will a higher than stated octane fuel cause problems as well????
And yes I know it's bloody expensive stuff but it would only be for trck days, nurburgring etc.
Your thoughts would be much appreciated
Tony.

There is probably a limit to the amount of advance the ECU will do. Even so, running above the 100RON mark may still gain you a few hp. One very important thing, make sure this fuel you're using is NOT LEADED. Personally I'd mix it about 1:3 with your premium fuel (98 RON???).

Yes the race fuel is UL and taking your suggestion of mixing 1:3 with the Optamax(98) I normally run, that should work out around
101+ a bit(I think)...........So should be spot on
Cheers
