Gearbox rebuild???

Gearbox rebuild???
Hi Guy's.
After owning the Scooby now for a few days, I'm very pleased with it and now want to keep her for good while. Now, the gearbox works great with no crunching or whining and the engine is good and strong.
My question is, how much will i be looking to have the gearbox rebuilt?
I'm goin to be getting all bits like this done over the next few months but would be happier to start with the gearbox.
I know everything is good at the moment but for the age she is and the fact the gearbox has never been touched, I would be happy knowing it's gonna last a bit more than what it will do if left as is. So hence me asking about having my Gearbox reconditioned.
Cheers, BAD63R

at a guess your looking arounf the 600-750 mark for a profesional rebuild/recon.
self done then it will be cheaper.
but tbh for the cost of it i'de wait till it goes, if you end up going for more power then you might need to put a stronger box in anyway and then you'll have wasted your money

If it aint broke then don't fix it!! Get the oil changed with a good quality oil and you'll be fine. I work in the motor trade and my experience with most gearbox repairs centres is that they are crap!! Nearly all the one's we've had repaired still cause us problems so leave it well alone
