Do up pipes make any difference on a MY01 WRX, already have the Scoobysport downpipe and WRs backbox. If so which one?

We are running one WRX with ScoobySport up-pipe, and one without, so can get a direct comparison.

It makes a noticeable difference - the car without the up pipe has twice the miles on than the one with, and the one with the lower mileage has gone from being the slower car to the quicker one.

It improves pickup, and makes it a bit louder too!

If you look through the up pipe cat when it is removed, it is almost a solid restriction in the pipe

Is there a difference between SS uppipe (£125) and GGR uppipe (£85)?

There are 2 ref. at GGR, what is the difference ?

I don't know if GGR thread their turbo flange holes.

We do this as it makes fitting much easier. As these flanges are stainless, its not an easy task.

If you fitted one of these up-pipes with a standard downpipe and a PPP center section (no cat), will the CEL come on?

I have the GGR uppipe and, as Pete says, the flange holes aren't threaded. I don't suppose that you could thread them, either, because they are the same size as those on the turbo. I had to use nuts and bolts so fitting was fiddly...
