5th gear only clutch? noise
1st thru 4th ok, but when i put it into 5th i get a sort of rubbing of metal sound from front middle of dash ( where the gear box bell housing is ) the rpm's fluctuate slightly over a 200rpm range as you accelerate, and you can feel a slipping grabbing feeling?
IT DOES NOT DO IT in any other gear....
Worried
Any idea's?

My immediate thought is 5th gear pinion worn. Is the car an import & restricted?
Cheapest solutions can be an oil change on gearbox & diff. If it was clutch release bearing it would do it in all gears. My money is on 5th pinion.
