I believe it should fit OK. I have one on my WRX MY95 with a scoobysport downpipe and it went on no problem. I understand the HKS are designed to fit against the original downpipe, as are most aftermarket exhausts.

beware though, fitted one to my 93wrx- lost all torque.
only mod was hks air filter. revs up faster and higher but
no torque...no fun! replaced with hiper which got some torque back.
