Question

Every time I change gear I get a "notchy click from the pedal.
Only had the car for 6 weeks form a main dealer (MY00)
Also if accelerating hard from standing a clutchy/brakey smell is experienced but no slip.
Is this the norm ????

Should I take a trip back to the dealer....

Wink

my legacy turbo (uk model..impreza engine/box etc) had a clicky clutch pedal about a month back, lasted about a week then disappeared. dont know what it is, but had no probs.
as for the smell, it probably is the clutch, but just heat due to the hard use on standing starts, wouldnt worry. when it starts slipping regular, change it.

regards

My my99 had a clicky clutch pedal just as you started to let the clutch out. Had a look at the pedal linkages under the dash area & found it was the split pin clicking on the rod that holds the pedal. Got a pair of pliers onto it, that fixed it up
Cheers

My 99MY started to click some time ago. It was the forked link end of the master cylinder pushrod, where it joins the clutch pedal, moving sideways. It mainly occured as the pedal was finally released. A blob of grease cured the problem for a while, but as I know what it is I don`t worry any more.
