Clutch cable or gearbox issue?
Hi,
Noticed my gearbox seemed a bit notchy when I shifted into 3rd at moderate speeds (car had warmed up fully), felt a slight crunch as I went into 3rd gear however this went away when I pressed in the clutch pedal fully.
Box has done 28k miles (STi Type RA).. thinking it's probably the clutch, how easy/difficult a job is it to adjust the clutch or does anyone think this could be a gearbox issue?
Haven't noticed the problem when pushing the car at speed and shifting quickly.

although not technically adjustable if either the fluid in the system is compromised (simply brake fluid so has the same life issues that your brake system has) or the pedal itself is incorrectly adjusted then these can have a bearing on shift quality

Cheers for the info, going to check the fluid out when the weather it is a bit better... I think it feels like the pedal is not adjusted correctly.
