Default Wobbling front wheel worries

First off, I have no idea about mechanics and likewise. I just love Subaru's.

For some reason my front wheel has movement. If I push the top of the wheel it moves towards the strut slightly (around 3mm). I've jacked it up and if I hold the wheel by the top and bottom it moves and knocks.

The wheel bearings and break pads were changed two weeks ago trying to cure a grinding/squeking noise coming from that wheel, with no success.

Has anyone any idea on what my problem could be or possibly a way of curing it?

Take a look at the play in the top mounting of the suspension, is the nut holing it in the top mount tight? You will find it under the soft rubber grommet you can see with the bonnet open.
If the top bearing is gone, the plat can be excessive (ie 1 or 2 mm)

Likewise check for tightness the 2 long/large bolts that hold the hub to the strut. They mist be VERY tight.

Finally, it could be the actual strut damper rod that couuld be very worn, and that is difficult to check on the car.

Check all nuts and bolts on the front end.
