Question

I'm sure that loads of you have fitted turbo boost gauges to the MY01. I would appreciate any help that you can give the technically inept (me in particular). Where do i pick up the boost pressure from? i have been told that there is a spare port on the inlet manifold but i'll be bug*erred if i can find it!

Look in the ICE Section - a guy called chiarq has a website that shows how its done (not MY01 but same idea and place of leads).

Link anyone??

Exclamation

thanks everyone.
gauge fitted without any probs, but a word to the wise;
finish the job properly, like i should have.
it's not easy to check the boost pressure on the way home (in the dark) from work if you haven't hooked up the power to light it up!!!

i got an autometer ultra-lite boost gauge from Jase @ scoobymania- they were really good to deal with and received the bits next day. once i figured out where to connect it- completely different to the previous shape scoob- it was fitted in about ten minutes. there's a pipe running from the wastegate actuator to the turbo body- that has another pipe going to the electronic gubbins under the plastic cover on the left of the engine bay. this pipe has a joint in the middle of it- i assume it's so subaru dealers can easily fit boost gauges! if you split the pipe at this joint and replace the plastic joint with another t-piece (as supplied with the dawes device) you can shove the feed pipe for the boost gauge up it. route it through the grommet and under the dash and its done! just remember to connect the lights to the gauge! mail me if you need more info. simon b.
