Whilst trying to perform an ECU Reset on my UK MY98, the check engine light didnt flash after I connected the green to green and black. Isnt it suppossed to flash and if so why is it not?

I think I have a problem with the wastegate solenoid as I get a hestitation sometimes when accelerating in 3rd, 4th and fifth gear. Is this perhaps the cause?

Would I need to take it to a dealer and have the whole thing checked out (i.e. get them to do a full diagnostic check?)

This link gives info on hot-to reset & read codes, what they relate to regarding sensors etc. It also shows diagrams where to locate the sensor whose code is showing.
