help my00 gearbox gone again
hi can anyone help me 6 months ago my gearbox went bang , kiss 2nd gear good bye and my input shaft too
so i purchased a reacon from atm sport just under £1000
well 3rd has never stayed in gear and ever time i rang them up they fobbed me off . know the bearings are shoot it and yet again i rang and rang and then they said " well its a reacon they dont last for ever "
so sod them cut my loses. now to the point.
i cant afford ppg rebuild the wife wouls shoot me
but ggr do replacment parts witch a assume are not uprated and are standard
is there a uprate gear set , syncro ect i can get other that ppg.
somthing in the middle price and strenth
p.s its a my00 uk 2000 turbo / ty754vna11
just running a decat , k&n , lightweight flywheel (fidenza) with a exedy 230mm uprated clutch and quick shift

hi m8 i got the same problem with mine another option open to you is a uk 2000 turbo box from any my96 to my00 will bolt right on inplace of the other no need for diff change etc i myself have sourced a my97 for my my00 and will be fitting it on monday hope this helps regards scoobzie

You might wish to talk to David at Welcome to the API website
They have a transmission section there whohave done my stock but checked-over Sti gearbox.
An Sti box may be your next move.

tbh though i'm surpised your box let go that quick running those mods, and at just under a grand sounds rather expensive, or is that including vat and fitting?
best bet get in contact with a reputable tuning company like scoobyclinic or api and sure they can advise whats your best option.

Had mine sorted by Zen a couple of yr ago 20,000mile later no issues at all-as good as the day i picked it up-above recon sounds expensive for the condition took mine to Paul had a lightweight flywheel/exedy organic clutch an the box sorted for £1400..................An mine still works!! another vote for david @ api.
my gearbox blew up on december 15th. decided to get api to build me a recon standard one. came to £900 all in, and happy thus far. had another closer tuner fit it along with an exedy clutch. id expect the current standard box to take 300bhp comfortably considering my relaxed driving style.
