Default Wheel bearing problems.

Took the car into a local specialist yesterday for replacement of a grumbling wheel bearing (rear).

They were unable to do the job, as the bolts were seized solid, and they couldn't heat them as it would melt the bushes.

They are now pricing a new bolt set from Subaru as they are going to have to CUT the old bolts off

Firstly, am I looking at an expensive job now, (they aren't charging me AT ALL for yesterday), and secondly, will I need the suspension set up again?

Had the same issue,
They had to cut the rear suspension off as the bar was seized internally. So I needed replacement suspension, new wheel bearing and alignment done again!
Cost £500 ! All for a smear of copper grease at the factory !

had the same yesterday on a forester i could not move it at so it's now cost them for 2 new bushes and a long bolt, why they don't smear it with grease or some anti seize compound i don't know it would make the job a lot easier.
