Today at Power Engineering - 298bhp and 242 lb/ft
I was well pleased with the 298bhp, last time I ran at PE I got 275bhp (with Magnex single dump DP, BPM Center and BPM Twister3 BB), this run was completed with a BPM Twin Dump DP, HKS Center and HKS Hiper BB.... power has increased a fair bit!
Last run at PE got 247 lb/ft, this run achieved 242 lb/ft... hard to say why the TQ is so low, I would expect more... it was mentioned today that perhaps my torque had not been calculated correctly (calculated at 4000 rpm rather than 3800 for the WRX)?
Justin also ran today, basicaly the same car as mine, basicaly the same mods (exhaust/filter), his power was about 288 and his tq was 270+ !!
What does everyone think?

You`re running a bloody big hole all the way through now. I bet if you introduced a restriction somewhere, eg step down to 2.5" or centre muffler the power would drop a little but torque would improve? Also important is the shape of the torque curve and how well it is maintained over a wide rev. band.
Big power = grins in the pub on Friday night with your mates.
Big torque = grins in the car on the way home from work on Friday night (unless, of course you`re on the M25!)
Cheers mate - JohnD

I think I shall agree with that John, it must be the general lack of back pressure with the 3in exhaust systems.....
However, strange as it seems, the car is SO much more drivable with the HKS than it ever was with the BPM, the torque spead seems alot more accessable now (even if it has less torque).
Thanks for your comments
Paul (298bhp @ the pub )
