I posted the ebay link for the exedy clutches to exedy uk web site and asked if they were genuine exedy clutches as that what the seller claimed they are and the response were to avoid them as they aint heat treated and won't last as long as a genuine one...

There you go.
With clutches you do get what you pay for.
API web site is awful, call David on Welcome to the API website for a clear answer.
Good clutches are not cheap, but peace of mind is worth every penny.
If he offeres you a clutch/lightened flywheel package seriously consider it.
I should add i am a very happy customer of API.

We have a new schmicko site coming up soon that will better reflect what we do and why and so-on.
l'll point you all to it once up and running.

No offence meant David, but the power of the web site in this game cannot be under-estimated. There are some really good ones now with lots of detail and pics etc, and others that are poor imho, Whiteline AU being one!
At least you have one compared to Laterals which is under construction for a l o n g time.
Graham.

It is the torque you need to look out for, not the power.
Stock UK turbo delivers about 180 lbft
Sti about 260 lbft
The 'good' Exedy clutches will handle a good 350.
A decent clutch from a decent source will help sell the car later on.

I have an Exedy Uprated clutch and lightened flywheel all from API and I can't fault it
I'm running somewhere close to 400bhp and similar torque and it handles that no problem
