Loud Machanical whining from rear

Default Loud Machanical whining from rear

Hi guys i need a bit of help, im new to scoobys and just need sum info on keeping it in good running order and such like, my scooby has done 100k and has developed a loud mechanical whining noise from the rear, ive recently had a wheel bearing changed at the rear but this did not resolve the issue, is it the diff? any clues on cost??

ive got the same problem mate just bought a scooby the previous owner just had a wheel bearing changed b4 i bought it but it whines now and again

Default Had the same problem in my 07STi

Now she sits in the front, still the whining, but coming from the passengers seat

try changing the rear diff oil. check the old oil for metal filings and dirt.
does it get worse on or off power?
does it change note round left or right bends?
do the shafts have any play in them ?

hi mate im getting whinning from the front there is a bit of play in my drive shafts between gearbox and hubs is this normal ?side to side movement
