Default Planning new clutch

I am planning a new clutch once my wrx bugeye has been remapped by Andy F. Looking for some info and advice. Car will be 300-315bhp

Do I need a 225mm or a 230mm?

What make do people recommend as I am not looking to spend too much.

If exedy is there much to be gained between the standard organic and the stage 1.

Any thoughts on techniclutch?

Skim flywheel or buy new lightened?

Thought this was an interesting link to exedy site. http://exedy.co.uk/techinfo/ClutchOrficeWRX.pdf Would this be worth doing even without an uprated clutch.

Thanks for any info and advice.

My 03 WRX has a Kaiten lightweight flywheel and i personally think it is too light. I think it is someat like either 5.6 or 6.5 kg. You would do better with an OEM skimmed one. Put it this way, if i could (for free) try a skimmed one and compare i would do.
I think maybe for us 'roadies' the truly lightweight flywheel is too light.
don't get me wrong, i have no problems at all caused by it, its just how i feel when driving the car i mean.
I have an uprated clutch, when i asked Tracktive they thought it was the Exedy one but could not remember for sure. This is loads better than the standard one, and i mean the feel as well. It definitely felt better when i first go back in the car, the pedal felt better.

315 bhp is not a lot but it is the torque figure that you need to consider.
I would suggest that you go for an Exedy Organic Uprated and you should discuss this with David O'Brien of API Engines.
If the clutch has not been slipping, chances are that your flywheel needs no skimming.
If it does require "skimming" (grinding) this might typically cost £30-£40 same day in a competant machine shop with GRINDING facilities.

See the associated thread on here regards clutches.
