Clutch question
Hi,
Clutch has started slipping in my car.
It is an AP organic- just wondered if you can just get the friction plate replaced or do you have to do the whole thing? Anyone know prices of either way and fitting?
Also seem to be reading good things about exedy organics on here. Is this as good as AP? Seems to be cheaper than replacing with AP. Is 300 quid about right for these?
Cheers

I have an AP as yours, but not slipping...
I think you cannot get a disc only. AP would never give a warrantee on a new friction surface onto a cover condition they have no control over. (IMHO)
You could always ask there tech boys?
API are doing a high grip Excedy with better torque capacity over their already uprated unit. Best call David on Welcome to the API website
Tell him '911' sent you (private joke.)

Just to make sure that my " unofficial sales staff " are right up to speed.
We keep friction disc only for AP Racing, In all Subaru sizes and organic or Ceramic. Ceramic is really good these days with plenty of 'feel ' and not the usual on/off switch that every-one tries to avoid. So we have AP clutch discs, release bearings separately and 3 part clutch kits too. We also keep AP brakes these days.
Principally we still concentrate on the Exedy that we have been promoting for 3 - 4 years now BUT do offer all other types of clutches too.
Well Done 911 " unofficial sales person of the year" again having slipped and been beaten by NS04 in 2007 it is good to see that effort is rewarded with a title. [ and not much else- well the odd bacon buttie is as good as it gets ]
Come on NS04 you can't let them beat you

If your feel that the life of the Clutch has been rather short for agood clutch with not much stick
Ocassionaly a retaining Circlip comes adrift allowing a driveshaft to be come disengaged, dues to LSD's it then becomes 3WD rather than 4WD which gives a smular impression of Clutch slip
The simple test can be carried out before the Cars stripped
see here EXEDY Clutch Europe Ltd - Sports Clutch
There is this adobe file to down load, right click and "save as" http://www.exedy.co.uk/images/techinfo_180107.pdf
https://www.scoobynet.com/drivetrain...est-first.html
IMHO
And yep another  for David at API very knowledgable chap
Tony
Ps how much a release Brg for a 240mm 6 speed ?
