Lightbulb NEWAGE CLUTCH SLIP (TEST FIRST)

It's rare BUT EXEDY have bothered to specify so maybe more "Common" ish fault with Newage WRX and STi's

see here EXEDY Clutch Europe Ltd - Sports Clutch

There is this adobe file to down load, right click and "save as" http://www.exedy.co.uk/images/techinfo_180107.pdf

Very Basically "C" clips can come off drive shafts and you get 3 wheel drive and seems very much like clutch slip but it's not.

Thanks for the info.

BTW does this apply to all WRX/STI clutches (stock one for instance) or is it a EXEDY thing?

It is a Subaru thing, as loss of drive shaft connection it and the front or rear diff so making it "3 wheel drive" instead of 4WD

A bit like broken half shaft on a 2WD, car would not move at all but with LSD it would drive but just seem have loss of drive like "Clutch slip"

IMHO

Tony

BTW clutches on scoobs can last from 10K miles to 120K miles all of mine have lasted 20k, i do trackdays but average is 40-50 K miles (trafic light Grand Prix maybe 2 days)

Thanks for the info. It does seem to be the retaining clip, so am going to buy another and get it fitted.

Scotty.
