Clutch for my Sport
I phoned Subaru for a price on a new clutch
Release bearings £43.23
Cover £76.73
Plate £84.46
+ VAT
= £204.42 + vat (240.19) less SIDC membership £216.17
plus fitting (forgot to ask about...doh!) I would guess around the £200 mark
plus they going to supply and fit a new rad hose and they are going to drill out my broken wheel nut and fit new ones.
I spoke to Liz at Zen and
a gen Subaru clutch is £215.15 plus Vat £252.28
4 hrs to fit = £180 plus Vat
so all in £464.13
I spoke to one of the mitsubishi mechanics where I work about my clutch and he said he would do it in the new year for me. I supply the parts.
So who do I go to.
Subaru can't fit my clutch this side of the new year as apparently they need a day ( ) to fit it. So I have provisionally booked it in for the 2nd.
The Mitsu mechanic can't fit it until next year anyway. Zen I did not ask, but I would of thought the same now.
£250 for a clutch is a bit steep. I know you get what you pay for.
If I was to go for option 3 and let the mitsu mech fit it, where can I source a decent brand clutch?

Cookie, Subaru said that they would need the car for a day as they are unsure if they may need some other parts - oil seal and the likes sounds fishy.
The last time I used Zen (for a 60k mile service) I was well impressed.
