it came with an exedy paddle clutch, went the 1st month.
got the exedy fast road 550euro, lasted i think 4 or 5 months.
got exedy paddle clutch 750euro, lasted 6 months.
it gone now, again.
but i had a compitition rear diff, and was told that was the problem.
the diff is changed now and going to get a cheap one somewhere

Might depend on the bhp/lbft in the engine (360/350), but my AP organic has lasted 3 years of road and competition use and is still full of grip and smell free.(9000 miles and 140+ drag starts)

I think longevity is all down to how you drop the clutch, 5500 rpm and lift the clutch leg as fast as you can.
This is with a Type R box and dccd with a race set plated rear lsd and very very stick full race Avon slicks...

Will be a twin plate Exedy next.

Never give any chance of slipping!
The AP even has the weight in the pedal of a stock Sti clutch.

Alan, believe me i would if i could! Perfect hillclimb car for me, even better than KennyS's RA. It only needs a 6 point cage, nothing as a task.

Clutch slipping at max boost in 4th/5th is not good.
Allowing slip on launch wears/hotspots the surfaces. Seems to me it's got to come out and looked at properly by one who knows.

If your test road is the A38 you must be in the Midlands? If so maybe a call to Davis at API wouldn't go amiss.

If that same clutch survives in Alan's car it will (should) in yours, just look at the 500++ torque he has!

I've had the same prob. Run 320bhp and similar torque for 2 weeks and clutch went. Changed to an Exedy and lasted 7 weeks. Got another fitted for nowt and lasted 7 weeks again, now going for uprated Exedy from APIDavid. Damn good price and says it will take 400/400 so I'm already saving for a new 'box.
