1/4 mile times for an STi V.4
#1
I know the 1/4 mile thing is most a North American passtime but I'm wondering if anyone with an STi v.4 has run the 400m and what sort of times they got. I'm being told everything from low 12's to high 13's but this is from a group of people most of whom have never even seen a car like this.

well ive seen a uk spec car with just an exhaust (decat center) do 13.32 1/4 mile so if that pushes 240bhp for instance and has a smaller turbo then a v4 sti will be looking in the 12's me thinks

Totally abusing it but not dumping the clutch from 6k, more like 3.5-4k as i talked to him later, just depends on how hard your going to try, the more abuse you give her, the quicker she will go (or the quicker the clutch/g/box will!)

Since we haven't had the EJ20 here befor this year there are lots of people who added a turbo to their EJ25. The massive torque tends to eat gearboxes. How much abuse will the standard STi V.4 setup with a stock clutch take? Should I be concerned about not flooring it in 1st and 2nd gear? How about if I put in a GEMS system and with launch control enabled launch it at 3000 RPM with 8-10 PSI of boost?
(gets all giddy imagining enabling launch control at a red light)
