Sequential gear box available??
#5
I have Quaife's 2001 catalogue here in front of me and they did not, according to this literature anyway, have sequential gears for Imprezas. And oh, it's a new year so it never hurts to ask. How's the beast doing?
Maybe Hollinger has one?

Broke the dog gear 3rd and 4th on track with just 1 bar (15 psi) boost, BPM's product... !!!
Other than that, the car is doing well. Holinger don't do sequential gear box for subaru. But i will use there dog gear set anyway, from now.
Thanks,
Hyper

ok,
I'll do it.
Hyperex,
How much torque are you running?
Also,
I saw pics of your car a few months back and can't refer to it as the search is down. I have to say that the wheels on your car are one of the best I have ever seen on a scooby. Could you tell me what they are, offset etc.
Damian.

hyperex is unlikely to be on here too often, so to preempt what he will say, his torque is his business so he can tell you that but the offset of the wheels will probably be irrelevant unless you have a 22B since he has fitted an aftermarket wide wheel arch kit along with one or two other mods.

Thanks Adam,
Someone has brought back the Hyperex thread and I have compared the wheels to those on www.rotawheels.com/subzero.htm and they look like the same wheel.
The size quoted is 17x7.5 E45.
I presume E45 means a 45mm offset. I have a UK MY00 Turbo and I think from memory you can only fit 48-55mm offset or something like that.
I have to confess that I don't know what offset means so don't fully understand why these would not fit my car.
Damian.

Damian,
The ofset is the amount of wheel tht goes inside the hub, not the best way to explain it, but, basically, the lower the number the more the wheels will stick out, or rub arches, standard cars are very critical on ofset.

Come on, it was just 15 psi boost, how much torque can you expect? Was about 380 hp with 360 lbf/ft torque. Anyway, can't express how much disappointment i had this company's product, bought the clutch and gone in just first time test run, exhuast which wasn't the right spec i asked for and not bother to entertain my claims for the above items no matter how hard i tried. And now the dog gears.... !@#$%^&^%$#@ i won't even try to ask for claims, i know what will happen.
Spoke with prodrive, Quaife and Holinger. Non of them have sequential available (prodrive sequential box not for sale, only for WRC only). For dog box, Prodrive have only 1 ratio available which is not suitable for my use and too expensive for me. Quaife have only 1 ratio too for group N only. Holinger have the whole A4 size list for me to choose from so far their reputation is good. I will just go ahead with them.
The wheels on my car namely Hart CP035, 17", 8.5J, off set 48, can see from here http://www.hartwheels.co.jp/cat_racinghart_035/racinghart_035_spec.htm
