Question Viscous or plated LSD ??

Can someone tell how to identify rear diff type without opening it? I need to know if R160 rear diff has viscous or plated LSD.

A Viscous has viscous written on the label (silver label on the rear diff cover, tend to last forever!), also one driveshaft has longer splined section than the other, plated have equal spline lengths on the driveshaft and I believe only have LSD on the label (assuming its Subaru OE, if its aftermarket it could say anything!) as I understand it plated was only fitted to early XT/L-series in R160 form as the plated STi's were R180.

Note this is what I have found/learnt in trying to find a plate, it may or may not be 100% correct as a lot is off the net!
