Am I correct in assuming that the dialing in of max advance is only limited - providing fuel is adequate - by lack of knock?

Yes I have been a bit quite lately.
Just trying to get this whole timing procedure correct.
EGT 800 c as a max value?
I get no knock , so I feel I can push the advance out just a bit further.
Apparently more advance has the effect of reducing EGT .
I must admit does'ent make sense to me.
Have you modified your throttle body yet?
The theory stands up - Check out LEWITT - Loss of head due to a sudden contraction .
