Question

Hey guys,
thinking of getting a front mount intercooler on the scoob but i'm worried how it will fit with the P1 lip spoiler & it's 2 little raised bits under the front no. plate. Has anybody fitted a fmic to their P1 or scooby with the P1 lip?? If so howd yours go?
Cheers
Justin

The P1 front bumper is just teh same as any other version 5 bumper, The lip spoiler sits below it, but the fmic sits above it so it makes no difference whatsoever. Dont knwo what you mean about number plate bits, but plenty people with veriosn five fronts have not had a problem.

If really worried then fit the pace fmic from scoobymania. It sits behind the bumper so doesnt get close to being in the way.

Question

The P1 bumper is the same as any my99/00 yeah, but the P1 has a lip spoiler that carries on right up to the radiator as you can see in this pic. You can also see the 2 raised bits each side of the plate i was on about! All the pics i've seen of fmic's the fmic sits very close to the front of the bumper which would mean i would lose the 2 little raised bits on the lip??
cheers
Justin

fair point justin, seeing your pic I can see what you mean.

The fmics I have seen would probably be close. But bear in mind you have to hack them all to bits anyway, what difference does it make if you have to hack those bits rather than the rest of it.

Like I said before, if you are worried, fit the pace.

Justin

I take it your car is extensively modded then to feel the full benefits of a fmic, with a replacement ecu to take advantage of the benefits??
Sorry just interested

Does that include a hybrid turbo, water injection, equal length headers etc?

Just asking, there are no fast rules on what to do next, it is just convenient to do some things before others. A front mount would be a good idea. Which top mount do you have? Is that an uprgraded one already because the standard sti 5 top mount is already very good apparently.

If you are really concerned about bumper hacking then the pace is without doubt the one to go for.
