Reluctant 2nd gear when cold
Morning,
I have a 6 speed getrag gearbox, which is horrible when cold but fine when hot ???
If I start the car and without moving put my foot on the clutch it moves really easily through all gears. When I pull away 1st is easy but it does not like second - this may only be at say 2000 revs so no real load on it, but it will go into 3rd.
Once warmed up nicely all gears are fine.
What do you think ??
Change of gearbox oil ? I was under the impression that these boxes are well made so hopefully nothing expensive - it has done 50,000 miles new clutch about 3000 miles ago ?
Thanks,
Del

Try this, Always works / Worked for me
When changing from 1st to 2nd 1st Gear,Depress clutch, Pull out of gear, Clutch out, Blip throttle 2500 Rpm ish , Clutch back in, Select 2nd gear.
The above to be carried out in one swift action as such, Once you get the hang of this, The 2nd gear blues go away
