Clutch burnt out after 3000 miles!
The clutch has recently burnt out on my MY06 WRX. The dealer has stripped it down and says there is nothing else wrong with the car that could have caused the probelm and therefore it won't be covered under the warranty. Although I would not claim to be a perfect driver, I can't accept that the Clutch has burnt out due to bad driving after only 3000 miles. So thought I'd check if anyone else has had a similar problem and what the cause is likely to be.

OK 34srm, admit it was badly worded. What I'm saying is that the dealer is affectivley accusing me of bad driving, which is not the case. The car has been used for normal driving and I've never had a clutch problem in 20 years. Clearly there must be a defect that the dealer hasn't noticed when it was stripped down. Just wanted to know if there any common faults or if anyone else has had a similar problem. Any constructive advice would be appreciated.

G/F has a 98 Fiesta and she rides the clutch on hills and never uses neutral at a standstill (I say nothing) so it gets a hard time. Done 90k miles and still bites OK. There must be something fundamentally wrong with your clutch mechanism possibly causing it to slip all the time leading to burnout.
