US word - "muffler" - ie makes things a bit quieter
Brit word - "exhaust" - ie draws the exhaust fumes away so you don't die !
Anyway - Prodrive bb, Hayward & Scott centre section, decat, deresonated (deeper burble, but very "stealth" !).

H&S 3" Decat Downpipe, wrapped.
Revolution 3" Cat Back (4.5" slash cut)
Quiet exhaust, still rumbles, but not offensive. Poor quality finish on backbox!
Previous system:
Afterburner Decat 2.5"
Ninja Backbox 2.5", (4.5" slash cut)
Awesome noise, but very loud, no talking in car under throttle. Plenty of pop/bangs and would wake the dead. (Yes, i miss it!!)

Magnex 2.5" DP
Magnex centre with resonator
Magnex 6"x4" oval
On my wagon I find this quite droney on long motorway runs and some of you may laugh but a bit to loud on a cold mornings at 6am when my neighbours are still asleep.
Quite fancy swapping backbox for a prodrive one.

TSL Grp A Decat Downpipe
Scoobyclinic unresonated centre section (stainless steel)
Scoobyclinic Japcut backbox (think its 4" )
Nice at idle, very loud for motorway driving (which I do most off), but hey I like it.

Oh yea sorry guys, in the U.S. the "muffler" is the "backbox"...The "exhaust" in the states is all the piping+the "muffler"+headers, etc....(the whole system) I was asking for muffler (backbox) specifications because I'm still deciding what to get.
