Default milltek back box.loud or what??

hi, i am thinking of buying a milltek back box for my wrx 02 wagon. any ideas about how noisey its going to be?
i dont want an exhaust that is going to drone on motorway journeys but i want it to sound good on tickover or when driving a bit more, shall we say flambouyantly
any reviews appreciated ta

It is not loud unless caning it and then it is a lovely tone - good choice for an exhaust IMO.

Not loud on motorway or tickover but a lovely burble

i am sure it does but didnt get it measured.

Depends on what part you changed - I changed the whole system to a 3 inch Milltek Sport system.

I'm also looking for a new rear box and am considering the milltek.. Are they much better than the standard Prodrive silencer i currently have? Also any louder?

I have a Milltek backbox on an otherwise standard 2.5" MY05 STi JDM exhaust. It sounds fantastic, and is not too noisy. I was aware of it when driving the family on holiday, but not enough to worry about. Certainly noisier than the original STi backbox, but I'm happy. Not being in my 20's, or even 30's, I am possibly more concerned about being noticed by Joe Public than many who post on here

Can't comment on power gain - not sure I'd really notice an extra 10bhp or whatever over the 300bhp it has to start with anyway
