Change the relay on the pink connector (4 way)
Check the gearbox loom on the side of the box.
Put a meter on the right wires Black/green and with it all on, move the wheel while a friend watches the voltmeter, the reading should change with the wheeel position (it is a potentiometer)
Oh: Check the fuses!
Good luck.

DCCD probs
I have exactly the same problem with my 95 ra! If you get to the bottom of the problem before I do please let me know what was up with yours! The following happens with mine: Ignition is turned on and the top orange light illuminates for approx one second then goes out. Depending on what position the switch is in by the hand brake, the appropriate light on the scale will light up for a split second before the green light at the bottom starts to flash at one second intervals. Does the same happen with yours? The relay is in the passengers side behind the glove box. On mine, the connector block is not pink as it is on later models. Any idea which fuses are for the dccd anybody? It's all in bloody japanese!

I don't know either, just installed a dccd system into my non dccd Sti V3.
NEVER AGAIN.
The dccd wizzards are on bbs.22B.com
Post your questions on there under Drivetrain
I will read with great interest.
Another knowledgable guy is Paul at www.zenperformance.com

99% of the time its the loom attached to the centre transfer- to be more specific, gearbox removal by someone not expecting a loom to be attached, and ripping it off.
get your hand above the rear of the box, ie the centre diff, and make sure the cable is still attached.
can also be the part of the cable that runs through the centre diff breaking down, but its usually electrical.

DCCD voltages
I have tested the two feeds into the dccd at the top on mine, when the ignition is turned on one set of wires reads 12 volts and the other approx 5 vaults. The two wires from the variable resistor by the handbrake handle read 12 volts intitially but then starts to drop and within a couple of seconds goes to zero and remains at zero. I assume this is not supposed to happen? Can anyone tell from this where the problem may lie?

I think the pot by the handbrake reduces the volts to the dccd solenoid within the box so changing the clutch plate pressures and hence the dccd drive bias. It should not fall to zero.
It maybe needs a good cleaning with pot cleaner aerosol.
