right oil grade for evo 6.
#1
A good friend has just bought an evo 6 gsr (at my recommendation) but I am a bit loated to go on to the lancer board and ask questions as they dont appear that friendly and seem a bit holier than thou.
I know the right makes of oil as I hope I am using them in my car, but in terms of grading, what should be used on the evo?
Any evo owners have any suggestions?
Sam, are you out there?
Am going to recommend use of motul, redline or amsoil, as I assume it wants a high quality fully synthetic.

i own an evo 6 and while some of the people on the lancer board may seam unfriendly they will give you the answer to your qustion (just ignore the insults /rubbish replys )
any way i run my evo on mobil 1 10-50w
any decent synfetic oil will be good just make sure it is not 0-? as the 0 rating is far to thin for the pressures it has to work under

Used to run Castrol RS 10W60 in my EVO VI, but found it a bit too thick for our cooler climates. Changed to the grade Ralliart uses 5W50 (from Valvoline).

hi Adam
the evo communtiy is relatively small in comparison the scooby one .
i have spoken to ralliart dealer and they recommend that you use semisynthetic until 9k miles which is a very good idea anyway. then after fully synthetic. the grade should be similar to what you would do to the scoob any way, 5-40/5-50 for the witner and maybe something thicker for the track 10-60. brands again should be similar to the scoob, motul, valvoline, redline etc..

getting my 7 next saturday , very bored driving my totally standard and very slow MY99 ( it is so slow i can't believe i bought it in the first place )
