Default New Clutch for My00

Hi Folks

I think my clutch is finally on its way out after 60k miles....seems to judder all the time now, reverse is very difficult to engage, biting point is high up the pedal and Im starting to get the odd burning smell in traffic.

My car is a My00 UK Turbo and am just wondering what i can expect to pay for a replacement clutch/flywheel + fitting ( standard or uprated ), and who can do this in the surrey/berkshire area.

I'd prefer to just give the car to someone to supply and fit so I dont have to bother buying the clutch myself ( unless there are significant savings ) + would prefer an uprated clutch as I presume this will take more stress than a OEM one and potentially could be cheaper(?)

Any suggestions on a decent garage / advice on parts / prices?

Many thanks
Richard

Scoobyclinic website has prices for all in deals on clutches to give you an idea. Bit far from you but I can recommend. I have one of their uprated/balanced clutches and it works fine (still smells if given a bit of abuse).

API at Leamington Spa.
Had an uprated clutch and a lightened flywheel at the same time.
Service is excellent from these guys.
Regular group buys in the Group Buy forum, last one finished end of Oct -might be worth asking David (of API) if you can start a new one soon.

Cheers Spender, just spoke to these folks and they can do uprated Exedy clutch / lightweight flywheel for £780 all in. Is this what you had fitted? What noticeable difference did the flywheel give you?

Cheers
Richard

Yep, I had this done in April IIRC.
The lighter flywheel allows the engine to pick up that bit quicker from low revs.
It makes the car feel a bit more 'urgent'

API get my vote everytime ( and also a lot of others)

Look at the thread in Group Buy forum, loads of people are very happy with them.
