After a bit of a spirited drive at the weekend my gearbox started whining in all gears and then went away and hasnt come back since, i was slowing down through the gears and wasnt using my brakes much.

Has anyone else had this problem and could it be the oil getting to hot

The other thing is when i went to check the gearbox oil level the dipstick had risen right up some how

Any help would be much welcomed

The car has to be really on the level to get an accurate reading, however that doesn't solve the problem if the 2 readings were done at the same place!

When was the oil last changed?

 

Not sure as the cars new, think im gonna just get it changed at the weekend to make sure
