Bear in mind that you have a 50ltr tank, and when you fill up it's obviously not totally empty, and then work out wot it's done to the gallon, not tank full, and if your getting better than about 18, then you're not doin too badly, I've got a uk my00, and I only get about 19-20, driving like a woose, (some of the time) but mostly,. I just enjoy it and sod the mpg!

yup, thats normal mate!

When I got my MY95 WRX, I thought something was wrong with it cos I was getting under 200 miles from a tank.... turns out the only thing wrong is my right foot.....I get on average about 15-18mpg

Then again, I didnt buy it for fuel economy!

Just enjoy it mate, nothing is wrong

I get 140 to 160 and would say everytime I go out I get past 5000rpm... I cant actually make myself drive like a granny... I just get carried away when it comes on boost.

std UK MY98

usually get 300+ miles to a full tank if i drive like an old woman......

.....or.....

........less than 175 miles if i boot it

300+ is better for my wallet, but 175 is good fun

Varies wildly between 17mpg and 24mpg.

Even at 17mpg i didn't think i was "booting it" so i suppose it can get much worse.

I've only has the car a few weeks so am still learning.

The 24mpg i decided to change up lower down the rev band for cruising home. I can now generally sit below 2500rpm and that does help but, hey, company pays for petrol........WOOHOO.

Simbo, you may be getting about 150 miles from 40 litres because when the gauge says empty you probably have about 10 litres still in there (how much can you fit in from 'empty'?). That would be 17 mpg. A bit better anyway...

Have you thought of getting a 1.1 Kia Pride ?

Or a Smart car ?

I hear a bike is very economical too - what about a Raleigh Chopper?

(I get 260 per tanl using SUl on a MY00, with Superchip, magex downpipe and centre section. And I am not exactly easy on the right foot. Not bad really.)
