Gearbox conversion 95 to a 98??
Hi all, I've got a 95 WRX Import and the gear ratios are a little short for my liking.
I know someone with a 98 UK Turbo and his car seems to have a better range.
I'm wondering if I could put a gearbox from a '98 car into my '95 car. I know the engines are different, would this mean the gearbox has a different fitment?
Any help or advice would be appreciated
Cheers, Rich.

Ahh righty, thought there'd be something else.
Does or would a '98 WRX Import use the same diff as mine then?
Sorry for the questions, I just want to cover all angles before buying parts.

Yes it should do.
Just double check on ravensblade-impreza.com for the transmission codes which are on the side of the gearbox, usually start with TY52 ....... etc.
This should tell you what gearbox it is & diff ratios etc.
