Auto boxes can handle more power than a standard manual- I can't put an exact figure on it, but 400+ shouldn't be a problem...

It may be sluggish off the mark with an 18g as the TC has a low stall point, this would be my first upgrade.

Sorry to resurrect an an old thread but what ECU would you be using to get them to work with an Auto box????

I have an Auto Forester S/tb, a 97 model which I have been told certain aftermarket ECU's wont work on because of the control of the autobox.

I'm currently running 262bhp on the standard turbo with mods such as full de-cat and a few other bits but I would like to move onto the next level but seem to be limited by the Auto box.

What ECUs can replace the standard one and can be mapped?

Cheers
Mike
